An Ankou

About This Game

An Ankou is a fast paced action roguelike where each game lets you explore an open map freely, scavenge resources and craft your equipment to rise in power to fight hordes of demons. The game aims for high replayability with a profession system opening whole new sets of items to choose from, random events scattered on the maps and optional challenges you can unlock and tackle progressively.

The Ankou

Sometimes when you die, life is not quite finished with you yet. Some breton legends say that the last deceased of the previous year may come back as the Ankou. An entity whose sole role is to help lost souls depart the world of the living. And for whatever reason, lost souls are legion these days…

Forage and Craft

Incarnate the Ankou and use the knowledge and tools of their past trade to dispatch the horde of unruly spirits and demons. Roam the land searching for the resources you need to craft and upgrade your equipment. Maybe what you need will be lying on the ground but soon enough you’ll have to hunt dangerous beasts to get those precious and rare components.

Choose your gear, choose your gameplay

Multiple tools of your old trade are at your disposal from the start or can be unlocked as you play. You will have to choose your gear based on the available resources, the challenges you have to overcome and of course, your favorite playstyle. But will you have time to craft everything you want as the power of the dead grows?

Fight the legions of the undead

If most of your challenges will start with only a few creatures to defeat, expect most of your confrontations to end with waves of dozens if not hundreds of demons fighting alongside increasingly large bosses. An Ankou is all about fast paced progression and quick ramp up from careful exploration to frenetic fights.
